Alcon® UltraScan®

Eye care in the 21st century requires performance, economy and flexibility. The ALCON® Ultra®can® Imaging System responds with a multifunction system targeted at clinical echographic needs in B-Scan and Biometry.

The UltraScan® system comes standard with B-Scan, monochrome monitor, keyboard, and 10 MHz B-Scan probe.

Optional upgrades include Biometry (with 10 MHz A-Scan probe plus B-Biometry), video printer, and a 20 MHz probe.

With biometry modeled after the legendary ALCON® OcuScan® Biometer, the ALCON® UltraScan® system takes ultrasound imaging to the next level. ALCON® UltraScan® biometry software enhances collection of axial length measurement and IOL calculations. B-Biometry software permits simultaneous viewing of both the eye landmarks and echographic reflection. This approach enables the echographer to confirm that the measurement data collected is representative of the patient's ocular condition.

Biometry

Easy-to-Use Biometry

With ALCON® UltraScan® Biometry, the user has a choice of A-Scan Biometry and/or unique B-Biometry. A-Scan Biometry incorporates a solid 10 MHz probe with fixation light, while B-Biometry utilizes a B-Scan probe. In B-Biometry "Auto" mode, the system automatically takes four (4) readings consisting of B-Scan and A-Scan composite. B-Biometry offers an advanced approach to auto-immersion biometry, employing simultaneous observation of the image and corresponding waveforms which could eliminate errors due to misalignment or false waveforms caused by retinal detachments, hemorrhage, tumors, short or long eyes, and staphylomatous eyes.
